How to make kefir manna. The most delicious recipes for manna on kefir. How to bake in your home kitchen

Minced meat

In childhood, our grandmothers and mothers tried to feed all of us with semolina porridge. Accordingly, having matured, many remained those children who do not like semolina. As befits a good housewife, I have a lot of jars of cereals on my shelf. Semolina is also stored in one of these. Since we eat it badly, once a decision was made: to start looking for a recipe where it could be used. Having scrolled through more than one page in the search engine, I stopped at the manna. There were quite a few pie recipes: with milk, kefir, in water, with chocolate, with berries, with spices, yeast, etc. Having tried several options, I want to offer the most delicious one for me. Let's prepare a manna without milk and kefir with cherries.

Mannik with the addition of cherries has a sweet and sour taste. In general, the combination of sweet and sour is very amazing. Probably, there is no such person who, having tried it once, does not want to repeat it again. In our case, it will turn out to kill two birds with one stone: to sell stocks of semolina flour and prepare a sweet for the whole family. Let's start cooking.

Manna cherry recipe

We need:

  1. 1 cup semolina
  2. 1 cup of sugar;
  3. 1 glass of water;
  4. 300g cherries;
  5. 1 tsp cinnamon;
  6. 1 tsp baking powder;
  7. 3 tbsp flour, a pinch of salt.

Semolina will be the main ingredient for making our pie. I cannot give any preferences to this or that brand. I buy it too rarely. I'm sure the cake will come out of any kind.

Cherry. Of course, freshly picked berries will be much better than defrosted ones. Unfortunately, 8-9 months a year in Russia you have to use frozen berries in the diet. In addition, using fresh cherries, you will have to independently extract a pit from each berry. Using frozen, you get rid of additional hassle. When choosing, settle for a vacuum product. Packaged cherries will protect you from additional contamination that could get in when buying berries by weight. In addition, the average package of cherries is just 300g. The cherries need to be thawed. Only the berry is used. The juice can be diluted with water and drunk like a compote.

Sugar. As you can see in the photo, I used a little less than a glass of sugar. The amount of sugar can be varied depending on your preference. If you like very sweet cakes, you can add 1.5 cups. If you intend to drink sweet tea with sugar and cake, you can reduce the volume to 0.5 cups.

Water. The volume of water should not be increased or decreased. Decreasing it will make the cake thicker and may not bake. Note that the water can be replaced with cherry juice, but the total volume should be equal to a glass. The recipe for manna with water is an alternative to a pie with the addition of milk or kefir. It is suitable for people who are allergic to lactose or who simply run out of milk at home.

Cinnamon. I don't think this is a required ingredient. It adds extra flavor. For those who do not like cinnamon, you can exclude it.

Baking powder. Let your pie rise. If there is no bag at home, you can use old recipe: slaked soda vinegar. The result will be similar.

Flour. You shouldn't use it a lot. Adding more than 3 tablespoons, manna it will turn out to be heavier and denser.

Salt. I will say right away that it was not in the original recipe. But the salt will allow the sour cherries and sugar to develop more vividly.

Cooking method

Take a deep bowl.

Pour out semolina, flour, fill everything with water.

Use a mixer to smooth out the paste. The dough turns out to be quite liquid. If there is no mixer, you can mix everything with a fork. We leave the mixture on 40 minutes... The semolina should swell during this time. It is better to cover the container with a towel so that the top layer does not dry out. After the time has passed, grease the multicooker bowl with butter.

We turn on the baking mode. While the multicooker is warming up, let's do our test. Attention, the dough must be poured into a preheated bowl, so it will rise more.

According to the recipe, the dough should be mixed again, add berries, cinnamon, baking powder and salt.

We knead a homogeneous mass.

In 5 minutes after turning on the multicooker, pour the dough.

We leave to bake on 50 minutes... The lid must not be opened during baking. Otherwise, air ingress will prevent your manna from rising. At the end of the program, place the cake in a baking dish upside down and leave to bake for another half hour.

Thus, the manna will be baked, as in a real Russian oven.

When the multicooker beeps again about completion, you can safely get out the cake. The cherries may run slightly when chopped. Sprinkle icing sugar on top for beauty.

Now we brew stronger tea, gather the whole family at the kitchen table and enjoy a wonderful conversation over a sweet and sour cake.

The reason for this is the special splendor and tenderness of the prepared manna. It is difficult to spoil such a cake with something, therefore, stopping on kefir, you can practice baking and gain experience if you do not have the necessary culinary skills. The highlight of such tenderness and porosity is that semolina is necessarily soaked in kefir. The main purpose of soaking for a long period is the crunchy characteristic of semolina, which can remain in the prepared pie if it is not soaked well.

After the semolina swells, you need to add the desired ingredients and stir everything well. You will get a dough, which must be poured into a mold and placed in the oven for 45 minutes, preheating it to 200 ° C. When greasing the molds with butter, you will need to add semolina there.

  2. Classic manniks are cooked in the oven, however, this cake turns out great in a slow cooker, and even in a double boiler. To find out which option suits you best, try, compare and enjoy the one that suits you best.

Is semolina healthy?

Recently, it has become fashionable to argue that all generations of Soviet children who grew up on semolina did not grow up correctly. Is it really "empty" cereal, which does not bring anything good to those who love it? It is customary to grumble at her high calorie content, a huge amount of gluten, unloved by everyone, "extra" phosphorus compounds.

However, there are also pluses. In addition to the invaluable benefits of the special nutritional value of semolina, there are other points worth mentioning. Firstly, one cannot ignore the fact that this cereal cleans the intestines well, "working" with an absorbent and sandpaper at the same time. Secondly, you should love her for phytin - a substance that normalizes the functioning of the stomach, improves the digestion process. According to the latest research, phytin also prevents the formation of cancer cells in the human body. Thirdly, the presence of vitamins and minerals is also important - even if there are not many of them compared to other cereals, they are there, and it is not fair to simply discard them for the sake of newfangled trends.

    First of all, soak semolina in any fermented milk product. Sour cream, kefir or sour milk will do. In a separate container, beat the sugar and eggs until the grains are completely dissolved. After the egg mixture, combine with semolina, melted butter and soda.

    Whisk the mixture with a mixer and gradually add flour. If you are using thick sour cream, I recommend reducing the amount of flour, otherwise you will get a thick dough.

    Grease the baking dish with oil and sprinkle with semolina, paying attention to the sides and bottom. Pour the dough into a mold, distribute evenly and send to the oven, heated to 190 degrees. After 40 minutes, remove the cake, wait until it cools, carefully remove and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

I often make a cake based on semolina, and there have not yet been cases where the lifespan of a masterpiece exceeded the time of a meal. Usually pieces of fragrant manna instantly disappear from the table. As for drinks, manna is combined with tea, coffee, cocoa, compotes, natural juices and nectars.

The masterpiece owes its name to the basis. People who lived on the territory of the modern Russian state first appreciated the taste of food in the 13th century. In those days, all kinds of delights were prepared from semolina, which became available to all categories of the population, including mannik pie.

The popularity of the pie is easy to explain - it is due to the quick speed of cooking at home and the simplicity of the ingredients. This dish can be safely included in baby food.

Practice shows that a biscuit made on the basis of semolina is less capricious and rises perfectly. Many chefs experiment with the flavor of the pie and add chocolate, berries, dried fruits, honey and poppy seeds to the composition.
