Ingredients:

Millet groats - 3/4 cup;

Pumpkin pulp - 300-400 grams;

Butter - 50 grams;

Salt - to taste;

Water - 2 glasses.

Cooking:

1. Cut out the pulp of the pumpkin and completely remove the seeds from it. We cut the pulp into small cubes, of a size that will be convenient for cooking. As soon as we figured out the component of millet porridge, put it on the bottom of the pan, on which we previously threw a piece butter. Pumpkin fried in butter, and not in vegetable oil, will be much more tender, tastier and more aromatic.

2. While the pumpkin is fried in oil (it will take about 10-15 minutes), we stir it constantly to avoid sticking, and at the same time wash the millet groats under water until the water from the groats becomes clear and clean. It is this procedure that will save future porridge from a bitter aftertaste. As soon as you wash the grits, put it on the pumpkin and fill it with the required amount of water. It should also be salted now.

3. As soon as the water in the pan starts to run out, add milk to it and mix the future porridge again. As soon as the milk evaporates, we check the porridge for taste: for salt, for the softness of millet groats. By this time, it should already be ready (groats were boiled for about 20 minutes)

  • 2 cups of milk;
  • water;
  • 3 cups vegetables, diced
  • 1 glass of millet;
  • 1 teaspoon of salt;
  • 1 st. a spoonful of sugar.
  1. The pumpkin is cut into cubes. Put them in the roaster, pour in enough water to cover the cubes, cover with a lid, cook for 15-20 minutes or until the vegetable is tender. Pour in 1 cup of milk, cook for another 5 minutes.
  2. Pour in 1 more cup of milk. Then add millet, well washed and scalded in hot water, salt and sugar, cover with a lid, put on a small fire. Boil until the millet is soft and the liquid is all absorbed into the cereal. During cooking, the porridge should be stirred so that the whole cereal is boiled. Cooking time is approximately 45 minutes.
  3. Mix it up, put it on the table!
