Blanks

A handmade angel made from salt dough is suitable for a Christmas gift, decorating a Christmas tree and a house, a magnet and a car pendant.

Angels are an ancient symbol of kindness and love, recognized in many religions. Therefore, feel free to give this piece of happiness to relatives, friends and acquaintances. A good talisman protects from evil, failures and diseases. Having studied MK, you will definitely figure out how to blind an angel and paint it beautifully with gouache. The size depends on the desire and purpose of the souvenir.

Materials and tools for sculpting

Working with flour and salt dough is rarely difficult. The material is cheap, and the preparation of the mass takes a few minutes.

For the test, prepare:

  • 1 tbsp. flour;
  • 1 tbsp. fine salt;
  • 0.5-0.7 st. water;
  • food coloring (sold in baking shops).

You will also need:

  • stacks or improvised tools;
  • rolling pin;
  • gouache paints;
  • brushes;
  • rhinestones, sparkles, other decorations;
  • aerosol varnish.

For fastening you need a magnet or cord. But you can use the angel for other tasks. For example, decorating a mug or casket.

Angel molding

In this master class, about two-thirds of the dough must be dyed green and yellow before sculpting. To do this, add the dye during the mixing step. If mass remains, do not discard. From the remains can be blinded - a symbol of 2019. And if you replace more, then it will be enough even for p.

Form an oval from a green piece, then roll it out with a rolling pin to a thickness of 0.5 cm.

Cut a straight strip.

Lay the resulting layer horizontally and fold it like an accordion, while only one upper side can be narrowed and pressed. The underside should be flat. Straighten the folds gently to keep them smooth. In the future, it will become an angel girl dress.

From white, make two small ovals, very narrowed, on one side. These are the hands.

Now mold two white wings for the angel out of salt dough. They can be made from flattened ovals, and then sharpen the edge or roll out the layer and cut the shape out of a cardboard pattern. Place the wings under the "back" of the angel.

Blind two more small oblong ovals from the mass of the same color, then narrow one side. Use a stack or toothpick to squeeze out a depression on the wide side. This is how sleeves... Stick the sleeves with the narrow side to the top of the dress, and slightly cover your arms with the wide side so that the entire narrow part is covered.

Form a ball from the white mass and stick directly to the base of the dress. As a result, the angel will find head.

Roll a thin long sausage from the yellow one.

From one or more yellow sausages, shape the hair of the Christmas angel into curls.

Dry the salt dough angel in the oven at a temperature no more than 100 degrees... Approximately 4-6 hours. If you have time, you can leave the craft to air dry. But natural drying will take at least two weeks.

Do not dry at high temperatures - the product will crack and brown, which should not be allowed. The challenge is to get rid of moisture, not bake. It is convenient and more economical in terms of energy consumption to dry several products at once.

Coloring an angel

This stage is the most crucial. It depends on him whether the image of the angel turns into a recognizable Christmas angel. If you are doing this for the first time, then try on an unnecessary piece. To do this, dry the training pieces along with the craft.

Paint the wings with a pale blue color.

Draw in the basic details of the face. Respect the proportions.

Paint the edge of the salt dough angel dress with green gouache, as in the photo. Then, blend the edges with a clean, wet brush to create a smooth transition.

Draw the details. Decorate with rhinestones and sparkles.

Olga Olefirenko shared the secrets of how to mold an angel from salt dough with her own hands. Photo by the author of the master class.

Time flew by not noticeably, I myself became a mother and this year with my children I decided to continue the tradition, to do handicrafts: to make angels from salt dough. If you like the idea, then prepare the materials and do some fun creativity.

First, print the angel template by opening the PDF file. The image includes a dress, wings and a halo. The head, legs and arms will be randomly molded by pumping out the sausage shape.
Use scissors to cut out all parts of the template.

Line your work surface with parchment paper. This will keep the table clean and will also make it easier to roll out the dough.

Substitute 2 parts flour, 1 part salt and 1 part water salted dough. Roll it out, 0.5cm-1cm thick.

Attach templates (dress, wings, halo) to a layer of salt dough, cut them out with a knife. Advice: the knife should be with a blunt end, as children will work with this tool. I took a butter knife.
For feathers, I recommend using toothpicks.

In order for the angels to be in 3D, first blind the angel's body in any shape, and then stick the dress and sleeves on top.

Bend the sleeves down, and then mold a small oval ball of dough. This ball will help keep the sleeves together.

My kids' favorite hobby is making hair. We used a garlic press to form them. Thanks to which long strands of salted dough are squeezed out. Use a toothpick to spread them over the top of the shape, around the head. Stick a ball of salt dough - the head.

I also recommend using a toothpick to pierce the hole for the ribbon (thread) for hanging.
Here is the angel of my 11-year-old daughter.

And this is an angel - my 7-year-old daughter.

Place the molds in the oven and bake for 60 minutes at low temperature (275 degrees).

After they are completely dry and cooled, you can start the staining process.

Paint the figurines any color you want and then spray them with varnish. The varnish will protect the crafts from moisture penetration and will not allow them to get damp.

Pass a thread or ribbon through the hole of the product and hang it on the tree.

Angels always cause special delight and interest of children and adults. They are chosen as souvenirs, interior items, they are used to decorate the house, they are used as Christmas tree decorations. More than one master class is dedicated to "angelic" crafts. The materials used are threads, pieces of fabric, paper. Our angels are made of salt dough.

How to make the dough

The master class begins in the kitchen with a simple culinary procedure. All further work depends on it. To prepare salty dough you will need:

  • fine salt - 400 gr;
  • flour - 200 gr;
  • water - 100 ml.

We knead the dough.

  • Pour the salt into the flour.
  • Add water in small portions and knead.
  • The resulting material for modeling should be of a uniform consistency, moderately steep, but pliable and plastic.
  • You can prepare the dough in another way.

    To do this, use a glass of flour, half a glass of fine salt, one tablespoon of vegetable oil, a tablespoon of starch, boiled in 100 grams of water.

    It seems like more of a hassle, but the result will not disappoint you. In any case, it is worth trying to choose which test is more convenient for you to work with.

    Making a figurine

    Some craftsmen prefer to dye the dough right away. To do this, the dough is divided into parts, each of which is a separate part. Then add the desired paint to a lump of dough and knead until smooth. The more paint, the more intense the color.

    We will decorate the figurine after it is ready. For this we need some tools and devices:

    • cutting board;
    • water and brush;
    • curly knife or a set of stacks - plastic or wooden.
    • wooden rolling pin;
    • garlic press.

    Let's get to work.

    Our master class is approaching the most responsible and important stage. We spread the crafts on foil and send them to the cold oven. There they will stay for up to two hours at a temperature of no higher than 50 degrees. If the product is up to two centimeters thick, one hour is enough. In any case, we gain patience and wait.

    You can also dry the finished product naturally at room temperature. But you will have to wait several days until it completely solidifies.

    We decorate the angel

    While the crafts are "warming up", think about how to decorate them and prepare acrylic paints. It depends on your imagination whether your angel, made of salt dough, will be tender and touching or bright and mischievous. After covering the craft with paints, apply a layer of acrylic varnish for shine. It remains to attach a ribbon, string or string and your toy can decorate any place in the house.

    If this was the first master class, and it was successful, next time you can shape an angel according to your own sketches and ideas, complicating the shape and decorative elements.

    If you have any dough left, store it in the refrigerator. Ready-made figures from salt dough will be stored for as long as you like. If some part breaks off, then everything is perfectly glued with PVA or Moment glue.

    Well, the most beloved and long-awaited holiday is approaching not only for children, but also for all adults. Today the shops sell such a variety of Christmas decorations and gifts that sometimes you get lost in the choice. But, making an angel from salt dough with your own hands with your children, you will get tremendous pleasure! You can also cook with your child and.

    And one more version of Angels

    All this beauty is from the same salty dough!

    How to cook it? It's simple - 1 cup flour, 1 cup fine salt and a little warm water.

    All parts are held together with a wet brush.

    The angels are baked at a low temperature of about 50 degrees for about 1-2 hours.

    We look at the creation process from the pictures - everything is absolutely clear. Every home has foil or baking paper, a rolling pin, cookie cutters, a garlic press, and paper clips that make great hanging hooks.

    We paint with acrylic paints, and after drying we cover the finished products with acrylic varnish.

    A couple of phrases from us:

    According to this principle, it is possible to make not only decorative angels, but also quite edible ones - from shortbread or gingerbread dough, or confectionery mastic.

    In order for our gingerbread cookies and cookies to be as bright and beautiful, we paint them, dyed with food dyes, icing.

    While the glaze is not frozen, you can apply coconut flakes over some parts (for example, on the wings of our angel), poppy seeds, sesame seeds, grated nuts, small colored dragees, candied fruits, etc.

    Hearts, flowers, baskets, etc. can be cut out of fruit or marmalade - it will turn out original, tasty and beautiful.

    Pastry mastic angels are perfect for decorating birthday cakes. In this case, during preparation, we immediately paint the mastic in the desired colors with the help of food dyes.

    In order to make the angels even more beautiful and elegant, you can use a curly rolling pin, which, after rolling the dough, leaves an extruded pattern on it; as well as - molds-stamps ()

    Good luck with your creativity, new ideas and happy holidays!
